Galaxy S25 Ultra Review: Joana’s “Philippine SIM-card boss phone” 😎📱🇵🇭

Hi besties!
Today we’re talking about the Galaxy S25 Ultra—the kind of phone that isn’t just a phone… it’s basically a supporting character in my life. 😂

I use it as my dedicated Philippine SIM phone.
Whenever I need to go to the Philippines, this is the one I bring—especially for banking apps. And honestly? It does everything perfectly.

Most important point?

✅ Through the Play Store, I can install everything and it’s fully supported.
No “wait… does this app hate foreign SIM cards?” drama.
Everything works smoothly.
(Real talk: if an app fails at the airport, life instantly switches to hard mode. 😭)

1) Travel survival item: 5,000mAh battery = a real advantage

The S25 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery, which is basically top-tier capacity compared to many competing models.

When you’re traveling, your phone is doing everything:

  • maps
  • photos
  • videos
  • ride-hailing, delivery, currency exchange, banking apps
  • and of course… fighting for a charging spot at a café 😅

That’s why the long battery life is such a big win.
It’s the kind of battery that makes “I forgot my charger at the hotel” feel less like a tragedy.

(Though yes… I still carry a power bank. Anxiety is a lifestyle. 😇)

2) Storage: 256GB vs 512GB — depends on your habits 😂

This one is super simple:

  • 📦 If you store tons of photos and videos and you’re the “I don’t delete anything” type
    → go with 512GB
(Especially when traveling. Your camera roll will grow like it’s paying rent.)
  • 📦 If you’re more normal and you use cloud storage sometimes
256GB is enough for most people

The phone itself is powerful either way—storage is the only real decision.

3) 4 rear cameras: wide / ultra-wide / 3x / 5x = “capture everything”

On the back, you’ve got four cameras:

  • Wide: your main “this is my angle” camera 😌
  • Ultra-wide: landscapes, group shots, big vibes
  • 3x zoom: perfect for that in-between distance
  • 5x optical zoom: where the fun really starts

✅ It’s great for close-up shots, and the 5x optical zoom makes it easy to capture moments cleanly—without physically sprinting closer like a confused photographer.

Zoom talk:

  • Up to 10x digital zoom is still pretty sharp ✅
  • Up to 100x is possible too…
but at 100x, you may start asking philosophical questions like:
    “Am I zooming into a person… or a myth?” 🤣
(But hey—if it exists, we’ll use it at least once.)

4) Video: 4K is standard, and it even supports 8K

This isn’t just a photo phone—video is strong too.
4K is the baseline, and it also supports 8K, so you can record super crisp footage.

If you’re into travel videos—night streets, neon lights, busy markets—this phone captures them beautifully.

(And whether you’ll edit that footage later… that’s a problem for Future You. Sorry, Future Me. 😇)

5) Weight: around 218g — Ultra, but not “too heavy”

Yes, it looks big. But the weight is around 218g, which feels surprisingly manageable for an Ultra-sized phone.

Of course, “light” is relative…
but it’s not the kind of phone that instantly makes your wrist file a complaint.

(Also: please don’t use it above your face while lying down. If it drops, that’s not a phone issue—that’s a life lesson. 😭)

Joana’s final verdict: Perfect for travel + banking apps + daily use

Quick summary:

  • ✅ Perfect as a Philippine SIM phone
  • Banking apps + Play Store support = smooth and reliable
  • 5,000mAh battery = huge travel advantage
  • 256GB is enough for most, 512GB if you store a lot
  • 4 cameras + sharp-ish 10x digital zoom, 100x = “philosophy mode” 😂
  • 4K/8K video support = super crisp footage
  • 218g = Ultra, but still manageable

One-liner?
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is basically my travel partner + financial bodyguard + camera monster. 😎📱✨
