These days, people do not look at a car the way they used to.
It is no longer just about the design, the badge, or how cool it looks when parked.

Now the first question is much more practical.

“Can I actually afford to live with this car?”

Especially now, with fuel prices staying sensitive because of instability in the Middle East, and with drivers in the Philippines feeling that pressure more directly, that question matters even more.
One trip to the gas station is enough to make you stare into the distance for a few seconds.

“Am I driving the car… or is the fuel bill driving me?”

That is exactly why more people are starting to look seriously at electric vehicles again.
And one of the models getting extra attention right now is the Tesla Model YL.

What makes it especially interesting is not just the Tesla badge.
It is the fact that this one is a 6-seater.
That changes the conversation completely.

This is no longer just an electric SUV for tech-minded drivers.
It is something that can be considered a real family car.

Why the Model YL is getting more attention

If the regular Model Y feels like a clean, modern, efficient electric SUV,
the Model YL feels like the version that was made to be more practical for everyday family life.

It is simple.

If you want an EV mainly for commuting, daily errands, and occasional cargo,
→ the regular Model Y already makes sense.

But if you want an electric SUV that works better for family use, more passengers, weekend drives, and a little more room for real-life situations,
→ the Model YL becomes much more attractive.

A lot of people are asking now,

“Can an EV really work as a proper family vehicle?”

And the Model YL feels like one of the strongest answers to that question.

The Korean price becomes more interesting when you look at it in pesos

The main focus of this article is the Model YL AWD,
and based on the first image, its Korean price comes out to roughly ₱2.59M when viewed in Philippine pesos.

In other words, in Korea, the starting point for the Model YL AWD feels like it sits around
₱2.6 million.

And once you look at it that way, the reaction becomes a little different.

“Wait… this is a 6-seater Tesla, and it is not completely impossible?”

Of course, this is still not a cheap car.
But when you think about what it offers—a 6-seat electric SUV, the Tesla brand, strong software appeal, and the brand’s image in driver-assist technology—it starts to feel like something that deserves a place on a serious shortlist.

But the feeling changes when you see the Philippine price

Based on the second image, the Philippine lineup looks like this:

Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive: ₱2,369,000

Model Y Premium Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive: ₱2,594,000

Model Y Premium Long Range All-Wheel Drive: ₱2,749,000

Model Y L Premium All-Wheel Drive: ₱2,849,000

And of course, the one that matters most here is the last one.

In the Philippines, the Tesla Model YL starts at ₱2,849,000.

So if the Korean-market equivalent feels like about ₱2.6M,
but the Philippine price is ₱2.849M,
then yes—this same vehicle definitely feels more expensive in the Philippines.

That is the moment when you pause and say:

“Hold on… same Model YL, but why does the Philippine price feel so much heavier?”

On a simple comparison,
it comes out to roughly ₱250,000 more.

And that is not a tiny difference.
That is the kind of gap that makes buyers stop, think again, and open the calculator one more time.

Why is there such a price difference?

This is not just a case of one country being “cheap” and another being “expensive.”
Vehicle pricing is shaped differently in every market.

There are differences in:

import structure

taxes

certification costs

logistics

and brand pricing strategy

So even if the model is the same, the final price can end up looking very different from one country to another.

From a consumer point of view, the emotional reaction is probably something like this:

In Korea:
“Oh, that is actually pretty competitive.”

In the Philippines:
“It looks amazing… but why do I suddenly feel the need to breathe deeply before looking at the price tag again?”

That is the effect it has.

Why EVs are starting to feel more practical now

A few years ago, electric vehicles still felt like something futuristic.
Something for early adopters.
Something exciting, but not always realistic for everyone.

Now that feeling is changing.

EVs are starting to look more like a practical lifestyle choice.

And the reason is very simple:

fuel prices.

When gas prices stay high or unpredictable, the cost of using an internal combustion vehicle becomes something people feel more directly in daily life.
With EVs, energy costs can feel a little more predictable, and running costs can be easier to estimate.

That does not mean an EV is automatically the right answer for everyone.

It still depends on things like:

charging access

whether home or parking charging is available

how often you travel long distance

and what your actual lifestyle looks like

But in a high-fuel-cost environment, more people naturally start asking:

“Should my next car be electric?”

And once that question comes up,
Tesla is almost always one of the first names to enter the conversation.

Tesla remains strong because it feels like more than just a car

Part of Tesla’s power is that it does not feel like a traditional car brand.

Tesla has a way of making a vehicle feel less like a machine and more like a moving piece of technology.

A big screen-centered interface.
Software updates.
A strong image in driver-assist systems.
And that ongoing feeling that the car may keep evolving even after you buy it.

That creates a different kind of brand identity.

Some cars feel like:

“This is a well-built car.”

A Tesla feels more like:

“This is a car that may keep getting better.”

That difference matters a lot.

And the biggest strength of the Model YL is simple: it is a family Tesla

This is really the core of the whole story.

The Model YL is an EV that can be taken seriously as a family car.

Its 6-seat layout is not just a small extra feature.
It changes the character of the vehicle.

It is no longer just for tech lovers or people who want something futuristic.
It can also speak directly to families who care about space, comfort, practicality, and real-world usability.

That is why the Model YL does not feel like just “another Tesla.”
It feels more like Tesla pushing deeper into the family-use market.

Will it be attractive in the Philippines?

Personally, yes—I think it absolutely can be.

The Philippine market tends to respond strongly to vehicles that offer practicality, space, and long-term value, especially when fuel costs remain a concern.

And the Model YL brings together a very strong mix:

6 seats

electric vehicle

SUV form

Tesla branding

strong software image

driver-assist appeal

That is a powerful package.

Of course, the biggest reality check is still the price.

₱2,849,000.

That is not a small number.
It is the kind of number that creates excitement and financial caution at the same time.

Your brain says:

“That is expensive.”

But your heart quietly replies:

“Yes… but it is a 6-seater Tesla.”

And that is exactly how Tesla gets people.

It knows how to shake both your budget and your emotions at the same time.

Joana’s conclusion

The Tesla Model YL fits the current moment surprisingly well.

Fuel prices are stressful.
People want lower running-cost options.
Interest in EVs is growing.
And software, user experience, and driver-assist features matter more than ever.

Right in the middle of all that,
the Model YL becomes a very compelling option.

And the price comparison makes it even more interesting.

When viewed in pesos, the Korean-market pricing feels like it starts around ₱2.6M,
while the Philippine price is ₱2.849M.

That means the exact same model clearly feels more expensive in the Philippines.

And that is what makes it so intriguing.

In simple terms:

The Model YL is one of those cars that becomes more tempting every time the conversation about gas prices gets more painful.

You want less stress from fuel costs.
You want more room for family.
You want something modern, premium, and future-facing.

And that is exactly where the Model YL hits.

So in the end, a lot of people may find themselves in the same situation:

“I was only checking the price…”
“…so why am I already choosing the exterior color?”

Hi besties—today’s post is personal.
Because this isn’t a “reviewing someone else’s car” moment.

This is my car.
My real-life, wallet-involved, daily-love-story car:

BMW M850i Gran Coupé.

If I had to describe it in one line:

“Looks like a runway model, moves like an athlete… but has the appetite of a bodybuilder.”

And just to set the tone properly—this isn’t some “cute sporty” situation.
It has a 4.4-liter twin-turbo gasoline engine.
So yes, it’s basically a luxury grand tourer with a dragon heart.

PRO #1: The exterior is unfairly good-looking

This is the kind of car you park… then turn around to look at again.

Like, “Wait… that’s mine?”
Yes. And it still shocks you a little.

Every angle has a different vibe:

Front: “Don’t test me.”

Side: sleek, long, “executive coupe energy”

Rear: honestly… main character ending scene.

Sometimes I’m not even going to the parking lot to “get in the car.”
I’m going to the parking lot to visit my car.

PRO #2: 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds = safer highway merging

Here’s the important part: it’s not just fast for fun.

It’s fast in a way that makes real driving situations safer.

You know that highway on-ramp moment where you’re thinking:

“Do I merge now…? Is that guy speeding up…? Am I annoying everyone…?”

In the M850i, a light press on the pedal and the car basically says:

“Okay. 2nd lane? 1st lane? Pick one.”

That 3.9s 0–100 means you can match traffic speed quickly, merge smoothly,
and avoid that awkward “please let me in” hesitation.

Translation: less panic, more control.

PRO #3: Stable driving + confident brakes

At speed, this car feels planted.
Not “floaty luxury” planted—more like solid, grounded, locked-in.

And the braking performance?
It doesn’t just stop.

It stops with confidence.
Like: “Relax. I got you.”

That peace of mind matters more than people realize—especially on highways.

PRO #4: Gran Coupé reality check — the rear seats are actually usable

A lot of people hear “coupé” and assume the rear seats are just… decorative.

But this is a Gran Coupé, which means you get the shape and drama of a coupe,
with the practicality of four doors and a rear seat you can actually use.

No, it’s not a “7 Series VIP lounge” in the back—
but yes, it’s absolutely functional for real life.

So the personality is kind of hilarious:

Looks like a fashion statement

Drives like it’s late for an important meeting

Still lets you carry passengers without making them hate you

A rare “cool AND practical (sometimes)” combo.

CONS (honest owner mode): being hot has a price

CON #1: Low-speed ride can feel a bit firm

This car shines most when it’s moving.

At higher speeds, it’s smooth and stable.
But at low speed—city roads, slow traffic—there are moments where it can feel a bit hard/firm.

Sometimes the car feels like it’s quietly judging you:

“Bestie… 4.4 twin-turbo. Why are we crawling?”

So if someone expects soft “floaty luxury sedan” vibes in the city,
they might be surprised.

CON #2: Fuel economy… yes. We need to talk.

On the highway, I can get around 9 km/L, which is… honestly not terrible.

But in the city? Around 5 km/L.
And the official combined figure is 7.7 km/L.

This is not a car that “sips” fuel.
It inhales it.

Every fuel stop feels like the car saying:

“You had fun, right? Okay. Now we pay.”

Conclusion: Not a “practical choice.” A “heart choice.”

The BMW M850i Gran Coupé is the kind of car that makes you feel like:

you’re driving something genuinely special
you have instant power when you need it
you’re stable and confident at speed
you still have usable rear seats because it’s a Gran Coupé

…and yes:

it can feel firm at low speed
fuel economy is very much “emotion over logic.”

But every time I drive it, I think:

“Life is short. Today, I’m going to look good and merge safely.”

And then the fuel warning light later goes:

“Cute. Now come see me.”

The moment I walked into the showroom—boom.
There it was: a BMW M4 Convertible in the loudest, boldest red, the kind of “car” that’s not just a car… it’s basically a heartbeat accelerator.

1) This is a dream car… even if it’s parked in my imagination for now

One look at the M4 Convertible and you instantly get it:

Open-air freedom: roof down, the sky becomes your ceiling

Performance: not just “fast”—more like supercar-level energy

That red color: this isn’t a “lowkey” red.
It’s the “I’m the main character today” red.

So yes, officially:
This is on Joana’s dream car list—pinned at the top.

2) I fell for it first because of a Netflix K-drama

Here’s the real reason it hit me so hard:

I saw it in the Netflix K-drama “다 이루어질 지니,” whose English title is
“Genie, Make a Wish.”

The female lead drove it, and honestly? It left a strong, unforgettable impression.
That’s when I realized:

“This isn’t just a car for getting from A to B…
This is a car that creates scenes—like, movie scenes.”

3) iDrive feels familiar because it’s like my X6: “Oh hey, I know you!”

The second I sat inside, I felt zero awkwardness.

BMW’s iDrive system is similar to what I have in my X6, so it didn’t feel like I had to “learn” anything.
It was more like: “Yep, I know where everything is.”

And that matters. A lot.
If the cabin doesn’t feel foreign, your heart starts warming up faster.
(Yes—faster than the roof going down.)

4) Inline-6 expectations: I love my X6… but this one feels like “the next level”

My X6 has a 6-cylinder gasoline engine, and I’m already very happy with it—smooth, strong, satisfying.

But the M4 Convertible’s inline-6?
Let’s be honest… it sounds like it’s built to deliver the best version of performance.

I haven’t test-driven it yet, but I’m pretty sure the story goes like this:

gentle press on the pedal

sudden “WAIT—WHAT?”

and the world starts moving backward

I really, really want to test drive it.
Preferably top down, sunny day, and no traffic. (Manifesting.)

5) Convertible life: beach roads or mountain roads = instant happiness

This is the real magic of a convertible:

bright sunny day

roof down

cruising a coastal road or a mountain road

wind, music, and that feeling like life is actually beautiful

It’s the kind of moment where you think:
“Okay… THIS is what happiness feels like.”

But yes—reality check:
Top down also means hair flying everywhere mode.
Cute in movies, chaotic in real life.

6) Honest note: the back seat looks a bit tight

If there’s one “but” here… it’s the rear seats.

They look pretty narrow, and for adults it might feel a bit uncomfortable—especially for longer rides.

So realistically, the back seat is perfect for:

bags

shopping

“short ride only, bestie” passengers (close friends only )

Final chika: speed + style + open-air vibes = dream car energy

The BMW M4 Convertible isn’t just a fast car.
It’s the kind of car that gives you:

performance
presence
open-air joy
and full “main character” vibes—especially in red

And because of “Genie, Make a Wish,” I can’t help but associate it with those cinematic, unforgettable moments.

Now the only thing missing is simple:

A test drive.
And I already know what I’ll say after:

“This isn’t just a dream car anymore…
Genie, Make a Wish—please be a good genie for once.
Let me have this BMW M4 Convertible.”

The moment I walked into the showroom…
BOOM. The first thing that hit me was the BMW i7 from the front.

I literally paused.

“Wait… is this a car… or an ‘entrance’?”

That grille is huge.
It’s not a grille anymore—it’s a gate.
The vibe is giving: “Show ID before entering.”

I stepped closer and it felt like the i7 was talking to me:

i7: “You’re shocked, huh?”

me: “Yes… not a little. Like, a lot.”

i7: “Good.”

1) Front view: not just ‘majestic’… it’s lowkey intimidating (but it’s so good-looking it’s unfair)

In photos, it’s like: “Wow, that’s classy!”
In real life, it’s like: “Wow… I suddenly feel smaller.”

The front is so strong, I swear the grille was absorbing my confidence.

“I’ve been working hard in life… why am I suddenly reflecting on my choices?”

2) Driver’s seat: tons of screens, but if you’ve driven a BMW, you’ll adapt fast (thank you, X6)

I sat in the driver’s seat.
And wow—infotainment screens everywhere, stretching out like a runway.

At first I was like: “Is this a cockpit?”
But since I drive an X6, my brain went:

“Ah… the BMW flavor. The ‘press here and everything makes sense’ flavor.”

Conclusion:
At first, it’s a tech overload.
Five minutes later, it’s like: “Oh, I’m at my cool friend’s house.”

But the screen is so wide that while touching it, I honestly thought:

“You could run a full PowerPoint presentation in here.”

3) Back seat: this is where the story turns into a movie (literally)

Okay, then I sat in the back.

And suddenly… my brain added subtitles:

“Welcome to the VIP premiere.”

The big screen came down…

This is no longer “a car.”
This is a theater.

me: “Excuse me… where’s the popcorn?”

i7: “Ma’am/Sir, the popcorn is in your heart.”

me: “Ah… okay.”

And while sitting back there, the person in the front instantly looked like a chauffeur.

Even my voice got automatically formal:

“Please proceed to the destination… in silence.”
(destination: the grocery store near my house)

4) Massage function: not a “car feature” — this is a CEO fatigue management center

I turned on the massage.

I expected: “Oh nice, massage.”
No. It felt like:

“Hey… you’re tired. Come here. Sit down. Relax.”

It was so serious and comforting, I almost got emotional from being cared for.

massage: “Let’s fix your back…”

me: “Wow… I also deserve comfort, huh…”

This back seat is clearly designed for a CEO who wants to recharge while traveling to the next meeting.

Am I a CEO? No.
But after the massage, my confidence grew for no reason:

“I should probably schedule a meeting.”
(Meeting topic: what should we eat later?)

5) But then I looked outside… and saw an i7 that suddenly became an artist

While I was deep in lounge + theater mode, I looked out the window…

And BOOM—there was another i7, and it was impossible not to stare.

Not just “unique.”
It was giving:

“i7 that started an Instagram art account.”

Instantly, a whole scene played in my head:

normal i7: “I am for CEOs.”

art i7: “I am also for CEOs… but after work, we go to festivals.”

me: “You’re both i7… but you have different personalities?”

That art i7 felt like:

“Your office manager who always wears a suit…
then you see them the next day in a glitter jacket at a club.”

I laughed, but I also kept staring—because the presence was just too strong.

Conclusion: you can drive the BMW i7… but the real main character is the back seat

Here’s the summary:

front: dominance + intimidation (comes with a confidence test)

driver’s seat: easy to adapt if you’ve driven BMWs (X6 people: “Oh, familiar!”)

back seat: theater + lounge + CEO healing room

massage: it doesn’t just remove fatigue… it removes emotional damage too

art i7 outside: “I also have an alter ego” moment

Real talk:
This isn’t just “a car I ride.”
It’s the kind of car that makes you feel like…

“I should be the one being hosted, not the guest.”

But once you sit in the back…
even if you’re not a CEO,
you automatically sit up straight and become “respectable.”

It’s not the car that changes people… it’s the back seat.

1) Model Y in Korea: “Discount? Okay, we’re multiplying.”

So yeah—over the past few months, you can really feel Tesla moving in Korea.
They’ve lowered prices, especially on the Model 3 and Model Y, and that makes them feel a lot more “okay, doable” for more people.

Result?

Before: “Oh! A Tesla!”

Now: “Oh! A Tesla!”
“Oh! Another Tesla!”
“Wait… is this on loop?!”

And yes, there’s also talk that some units are China-produced, which can make the pricing more competitive in certain market setups. Not automatically a “problem”—just interesting when we’re talking pricing.

2) FSD (Supervised) in Korea: insanely impressive… but also very “hold on a second”

This is the ultra-future part.

Because in Korea, there have been reports that Tesla Full Self-Driving (Supervised) has been activated / introduced — emphasis on Supervised, meaning it’s not a “robot car, good luck” situation.

You’re still responsible.

You’re still supervising.

You’re still the “teacher,” while Tesla is the “student who learns fast.”

But… girl, once you watch the videos…
the car looks like it has its own brain—
lane changes, turns, flowing through traffic… and then it reaches the destination like it’s totally normal.

It’s mind-blowing.
But let’s be honest: it’s also a little nerve-wracking.
That feeling of “This is amazing!” followed by “Wait… is this safe?!”

And on the US / North America side, FSD (Supervised) keeps evolving too—
even on the Cybertruck, it’s included in official pages/notes about FSD capability (still supervised).

So my heart splits into two personalities every day:

Side A: “OMG, this is the future.”

Side B: “OMG, this is the future… but could we lower the thrill level a bit, please.”

3) And then the Philippines: “Are we next?” — I’m excited to see how fast Tesla grows there

This is where my Filipina Joana side kicks in.
Because in the Philippines now, Tesla isn’t just an “internet brand” anymore—
there are prices, official listings, and an actual presence.

On Tesla PH’s official site, the Model Y RWD is listed at ₱2,369,000.

Of course, realistically, the Philippines still has a few big factors:

charging infrastructure (especially once you’re outside major areas)

condo/parking rules

electricity costs, driving habits, daily practicality

and that classic “maybe hybrid first because it’s more convenient” logic

But I’m still excited because…
when Tesla combines price pressure + tech wow factor,
the market can suddenly move faster than people expect.
And Korea right now feels like a live example of that.

Joana conclusion (one-liner, chika edition)

In Korea, Model Y price moves + the exploding number of Teslas on the road = Tesla is becoming normal.
And FSD (Supervised)? It’s amazing, but there’s still that “sis, hands on the wheel, okay?” vibe.
And in the Philippines… it feels like we’re only on episode 1. The question is: how fast will Tesla become a “common sight” for us—and how big could its market share get? ₱2,369,000 might just be the start of the story.

Confession first.
I’m a BMW X6 owner, so when I look at cars, my brain automatically goes like this:

“That size has presence.”

“The stance is so aggressive… and yes, that’s the point.”

“When I enter a parking garage, my side mirrors and I basically have an eye-contact battle.”

But lately, I keep hearing BMW talk about Neue Klasse.
So of course—being the curious (and slightly chismosa) type—I did a bit of research.
And then this thought hit me:

“Oh… they’re not just adding an EV.
They’re resetting the whole way BMW builds EVs.”

So today’s topic: BMW iX3.
Because it’s not just “an iX3.”
It feels like the first lead actor of BMW’s new season.
And you know how it goes—when Episode 1 is strong… you’re instantly like,
“OKAY, I’M INVESTED.”

So what is Neue Klasse, really?

“New body + new heart + new brain… packaged as BMW.”

One-line version:

New platform (body)
New battery/electric system (heart)
New UI/software (brain)

So it’s not an “EV that happens to exist.”
It’s more like built from the ground up.
The vibe is: “Not just a makeover… more like a full glow-up with surgery.” (Kidding… kind of )

Big changes (Joana-style: simple, but you’ll get it fast)

I don’t love overly technical explanations that sound like a thesis either.
So here are 5 key points, in story form.

1) The battery isn’t “cargo” anymore—it’s more like part of the skeleton

Before, the battery felt like this huge slab “placed underneath.”
Now it’s more integrated—almost like it’s part of the structure itself.

The usual goals:

better use of space

better weight balance

improved efficiency/range

In short:
Not “a car with a battery.”
But a car designed around the battery.

2) 800V: charging gets more… noticeably different

This is the vibe:

“Same coffee… but the straw got thicker.”

Charging speed isn’t just numbers.
The real impact is:
less patience-breaking time during long drives.

Because that moment is too real:
“I just want to go home… but there’s still a charging queue… and I’m standing here questioning my life choices.”
(Welcome to emotional damage.)

3) New battery cells: more energy-dense, more “worth it” per charge

The EV battle is all about efficiency.
Better energy density and design usually means:

less anxiety in daily use

less panic on the highway

fewer “why does this drop so fast?” moments—especially in the cold

Because winter EV vibes can be brutal:
“It’s just cold… why is my range acting like it’s posting a goodbye story?”

4) Bidirectional charging: an EV that’s basically a giant power bank on wheels

Step by step, EVs are becoming:

transportation

backup power

electricity sharing

camping/emergency support

So yes—an EV is starting to feel like a moving appliance too.

But warning:
If you use your car battery for camping and then on the way home you get…
“Low battery.”
Congrats—you’ve just turned your drive into a horror movie.

5) Interior UX: it’s becoming more a “digital product” than just a machine

EVs are quiet, right?
So what do you notice more?

screens
UI
response speed
convenience

Which is why BMW’s new direction feels like it’s saying:
“It’s not enough to drive well. It also has to feel great to use every day.”

(X6 owner POV) Why the iX3 suddenly got interesting to me

The X6—let’s be honest—has a confidence-boost effect.
It gives you a certain aura.
But in the EV era, another standard is getting added:

“Does it look good?” + “Does it make my life easier?”

And the iX3 (especially if it’s Neue Klasse era) feels like it could:

reduce charging stress

improve efficiency

make the digital experience smoother

So lately my thought has been:
“Wait… this isn’t just an SUV.
This might be a new template for BMW’s EV future.”

EV future outlook (short, Joana-style)

I feel like we’re heading here:

1) Specs competition → Experience competition

It won’t be only “0–100” anymore.
It’ll be more like: “How stress-free is charging and daily life?”

2) Battery + thermal management + software = the real fight

EVs aren’t just hardware.
control + updates + optimization will be the advantage.

3) Charging infrastructure = lifestyle

No matter how good the car is,
if charging is inconvenient on your route…
your love story turns into homework.

Conclusion: iX3 = the “first sentence” of BMW’s new EV era

One-line ending:

The iX3 isn’t just “another EV SUV.”
It feels like the first page of BMW’s new chapter.

And as an X6 owner, here’s my honest thought:

“I still love engine vibes…
but soon, I might fear laggy UI and charging queues even more.”
