Back in 2021, when I bought my Roborock S7, this was my cleaning mindset:

Yes. For real. That’s what I still call it to this day.

(At this point, it’s not a “vacuum.” It’s a roommate. )

At our house, cleaning is no longer “my job”—it’s Shangrila’s routine

Every day, when the scheduled time hits, it’s like it clocks in.

“Okay ma’am, I’m on duty.”
Then it goes around the living room corners, under the bed, under the sofa—
cleaning like it’s on a mission.

And when it’s done?

It returns to its charging dock.
Automatically.
Like its life is crystal clear.
It has a home, a direction, a career.

Me?
Sometimes I don’t even know what to prioritize in life…
but Shangrila? Shangrila always knows the way home.

What do I actually have to do? Just this, promise.

so the scrubbing is more serious—less “wipe-wipe,” more “I’m actually doing something.”

This one is giving roller-mop era.
They’re even dropping specs like 220RPM and 15N pressure—
like they’re saying, “Ma’am, this is not mopping… this is floor therapy.”

And of course the dock keeps going ultimate mode:
wash, dry, auto-empty…
Basically the goal is: please stop stressing, we got you.

And then… boom.
It has an arm.
A real mechanical arm.

This is the moment my brain went:

“Ah. Okay. So Shangrila’s child will pick up my socks now.”
(And honestly… that DOES look like the direction we’re heading.)

Apparently there was even a demo concept that looks like stair climbing.
Not sure if it’s mass-market yet, but the direction?

It’s scary… because it’s too convenient.

The upgrade trend in one line: less work for you, more life for you

From 2021 until now, this is how Roborock’s evolution feels:

Their goal is to remove your workload.

So the improvements usually look like this:

Less getting stuck on carpets/thresholds → more “mobile”
More legit mopping → vibrating/roller/pressure upgrades
A dock that’s no longer just a charger → it’s a full maintenance center

And as the current-gen “talk of the town,”
even the S8 MaxV Ultra gives that “complete package” automation energy.

Conclusion: Shangrila (my 2021 S7) is already family. The future? It might organize your life too.

Because of Shangrila, cleaning stopped feeling like labor.
It became a background system of the home—automatic.

But if these robots really get legs and arms…

I can already see this scene happening soon:

Robot: “Cleaning is complete. Shall I start the laundry too?”
Me: “Yes… and please—could you also organize my life worries while you’re at it?”
